While at the Game Tools & Middleware Forum 2011, Sony’s Kentaro Suzuki named the engine that allows developers to translate their PSP titles over to PlayStation HD remakes: The PSP Engine. The engine stands as the middle ground between the two systems.
Features offered by the PSP Engine include:
- High res rendering
- Control (with Dual Analogue support) through wireless controllers (Dualshock 3/Sixaxis)
- 3D stereoscopic output
- Ad-hoc Party unification
- Main memory and graphic memory expansion
- Common save data
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Version is the flagship game for the PSP Remaster program, but more titles are planned for future release.
