Gulliver’s Travel : Big Things Do Happen

I read the book of this movie when i was still in primary school and i think i saw a previous movie version of this, don’t recall the exact year but back then it was a nice movie as well. Gulliver’s Travel entails how our hero Travels on a voyage just to impress a woman, tell you something guys, women, they have a lot of strength which we guys shouldn’t make known to them else they’ll take over everything (Just kidding). Gulliver's TravelAnyway Gulliver (Jack Black) lies to this girl (Darcy) he got a crush on and says he travels a lot to different parts of the World, just to get on her good side. Then Darcy gave him this trip to Bermuda she was to go on and report a story. Gulliver being so excited about it went on this voyage only to be shipped wrecked into what was an anomaly of time and space, that transported him into an unknown world called Lilliput where tiny or rather very tiny people dwell. On shore there, he was captured and tied, only to be brought in front of the ruler who deemed him as beast. he proved himself worthy by saving the princess and the king of Lilliput and this made the General Edward who before had love from the princess and the king, so he turned against Lilliput and formed an alliance with Lilliput’s rival and enemy the Blefuscian and sort to get rid of Gulliver.
Gulliver in his own twisted way loved staying in Lilliput because he could have everything he ever wanted, they made him feel so much at home and he told them of every movie he ever watched only one thing was that, he was the star in all those movies. Deceiving the Lilliputian by means of lying, when General Edward caught Gulliver after creating a giant robot from a Schema from Gulliver’s Wrecked Ship he sent Gulliver to “The Land which they don’t speak off”. Eventually Gulliver got back to Lilliput fought General Edward, saved the day and sorted out the Long lasting Quarrel between the Lilliputians and the Blefuscians. One hilarious part of this movie was that, when the Blefuscian came to kidnap the princess, they just told her, you’ve been kidnapped without actually kidnapping her first. This is a very good movie to watch, family orientated and so many funny scenes.

Tron: Legacy or Is it

Tron LegacyI have to say this, when i went to the cinema to watch this movie, i actually wanted to watch Rapunzel, you know the cartoon animation; anyway was waiting for my friend who is actually this cute sweet girl and she turned up late because of the traffic and all, so i had to pick another movie which we had to watch and Tron was the only available one at that time which was close enough in the time period so we wouldn’t have to wait. Thinking i did pick a good movie, i was wrong!
Tron entails the son of a virtual game designer who went missing and his son goes looking for him in a digital world that his father has designed. he met his father’s creation that turned bad and an ally who evolved out of the digital world. It had a good start, the bike ride and the parachute from who knows how high the building was, and the serious look on our hero’s face Sam Flynn (Garrett hedlund).
The movie goes on to show the real father Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) which Sam eventually met through the help of Quorra (Olivia Wilde), who were called ISO’s → meaning (Original creation of the digital world), but these ISO’s were destroyed by Clu the evil clone of Kevin Flynn, who was originally designed to revolutionize the Grid( digital world). As everyone might know, these are all clique of what always happens in movies; scientist creates an invention, it goes wrong and that invention/creation destroys other things.
One of the funny side of this movie, if i recall properly was that, at the end of the movie, Kevin Flynn absorbed Clu, literally! if he had that power all this while, why couldn’t he just do that and control the Grid instead he lived in exile from his own creation. Also it had so many story line that didn’t make complete sense, like Food being inside the Grid, which was eaten by Kevin Flynn and his son Sam, it’s a digital world how did they grow food or rather plant food or rear animal, the atmosphere was completely dark with no trace of sunlight, and the landscape was an abrupt crater of what looks like desolated erupted larva. i have watched really ridiculous movies this year, and this falls under that category. Never-the-less it did have cool 3D animation, and i did give Disney some credit for it.

Arkham City: Batman is Outed

At Spike TV’s 2010 Video Game Awards, a new trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum revealed the identity of a major villain appearing in the game. Professor Hugo Strange is after Batman and he knows the Dark Knight’s secret.

Batman Arkham City

While the trailer reveals almost nothing of the plot, if Arkham City takes a page from the comics, it’s possible Strange will auction Batman’s identity to the highest bidder. Could that be what gathers a group of Gotham’s worst criminals for the follow-up to Batman: Arkham Asylum?

Developer Rocksteady claims that Arkham City is five times the size of Arkham Asylum. We expect it to then be five times as awesome.

Element Dimension

CSS plays so many role in how a screen width is suppose to display on any Media Screen. Using the Media Attribute in your HTML code, you can designate what media type can a style sheet be applied to. In addition to positioning elements, CSS rules can specify the actual dimensions of each page element.

<xml version = "1.0" ?>
<DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">

<-- setting dimension box and text alignment -->

<html xmlns = "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title> Simple Box Dimension</title>
<style type="text/css">

div { background-color: #ffccff;
       margin-bottom: .5em }
</style>
</head>

<body>

<div style="width: 20%">Here is some text that goes
in a box which is set to stretch across twenty percent of
the width of the screen.</div>

<div style="width: 80%; text-align: center">
Here is some CENTERED text that goes in a box
which is set to stretch across eighty percent of
the width of the screen.</div>

<div style="width: 20%; height: 30%; overflow: scroll">
This box is only twenty percent of the width and thirty percent
of the height. what do we do if it overflows? Set the overflow
property to scroll!</div>

</body>
</html>

The inline style in the First div, illustrates how to set the width of an element on screen; here, we indicate that the DIV should occupy 20% of the screen width. Most elements are left-aligned by default; however, this alignment can be altered to position the element elsewhere. The height of an element can be set similarly, using the height property. The height and width values also can be specified as relative or absolute lengths. For Example
width : 10em
Sets the element’s width to be equal to 10 times the font size. The Second div sets text in the element to be center aligned; other values for the text-aligned property include left and right.
One problem with setting both dimensions of an element is that the content inside the element can exceed the set boundaries, in which case the element is simply made large enough for all the content to fit. However, in the Third div, we set the overflow property to scroll, a setting that adds scrollbars if the text overflows the boundaries.

US X-37B space plane prepares to come back to Earth

Powered by Guardian.co.ukThis article titled “US X-37B space plane prepares to come back to Earth” was written by Alok Jha, Science correspondent, for The Guardian on Wednesday 1st December 2010 17.25 UTC

It looks like a miniature space shuttle, complete with solar panels for power and a cargo bay to carry satellites or scientific experiments into orbit. But unlike the venerable Discovery, Endeavour or Atlantis, the US Air Force’s X-37B space plane comes without one crucial element: human astronauts.

The space plane has been circling the Earth for the past nine months and will land some time this week at the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Officially known as the Orbital Test Vehicle, it has been flying as a technology testbed for the next generation of space vehicles.

The X-37 project was started by Nasa in the late 1990s as a way of getting into space more cheaply and was adopted by the military a few years later. The first flight was designed to test equipment, sensors and materials in a space environment, with a view to using these in future space-based technologies.

Exact details of the mission, including costs, have been classified by the military, though amateur astronomers have watched the orbits of the X-37B as it has travelled around the Earth since its launch in April.

According to Space.com, the first mission will emphasise the testing of “technologies necessary for long duration reusable space vehicles with autonomous re-entry and landing capabilities”. The plane is designed for low-Earth orbits, similar to the civilian space shuttle.

The space plane is around 9 metres long and has a wingspan of 4.5m, compared to the 37m-long and 23.8m-wingspan space shuttle. It can orbit at similar speeds of up to 17,500mph. But, unlike its iconic cousin, the X-37B is designed to stay in space for months at a time before landing, by itself, on a runway. The plane’s landing this week will be the US space programme’s first attempt at an autonomous re-entry from orbit.

Roger Handberg of the political science department at the University of Central Florida in Orlando told Space.com that the X-37B was a natural extension of the US military’s forays into unmanned aerial vehicles, which are increasingly being used in warzones for reconnaissance or to drop bombs. “From the perspective of international observers – especially in space-aspiring states such as China, the X-37B programme just reinforces their view that the US is pushing to gain first mover advantage in rapid response including possible weaponisation of space using this vehicle or a derivative.”

The USAF plans to fly another X-37B in the spring.

Unstoppable – The Classic Train Crash

When accidents occurs, is it just a classic tale that people just talks about or is it another accident that went wrong from the onset? Unstoppable entails a Train that wasn’t suppose to leave the Train depot, which left in a very terrible and uncontrollable way, first of all, the engineer didn’t fix the emergency brakes that can be triggered if this kind of event happens, secondly he kept the gear on full throttle which means that the train can pick up speed at it’s disposal. Will (“Chris Pine”) who just came into his new job as the Conductor got to work along side with Frank (“Denzel Washington”) who is a 28 years veteran engineer in the Train/locomotive Industry. Frank was assigned to tutor and monitor Will and make him learn how to control and operate a Train. Unstoppable MovieIn Will’s first day as a conductor, mayhem happens, the Engineer in-charge of Train 727 forgot to fix it’s brakes and left the train unmanned, which when it started rolling out slowly, he couldn’t stop it and finally the train became a Coaster – which basically means an unmanned train moving at a very fast pace. Meanwhile Frank and Will were doing their shift in another train which has passed from Pennsylvania while this unmanned train was going to pass through Pennsylvania to Stanton which is a very high populated area carrying hundred thousand tonnes of chemical, which if it derails or crashes can cause a massive explosion as Big as the Chrysler building. After many attempts by the Train Company, it seems as though the train couldn’t be stopped, so Frank and Will embarked on a mission to stop the train at all cause before it reaches Pennsylvania which has a curve on the track that if the Train turns there at it’s speed which was about 70Km/h, it can derail and crash over buildings and a power plant which can kill thousands of people. Despite being given a 90 days notice to be fired without good pension from the Train company which he worked with, Frank was willing to sacrifice his life in doing what he felt was right to save innocent lives. In the end Will was able to reach the 1st Coach of the Train after performing a Train-to-Car-to-Train jump in order to reach and finally stop the moving Train. Both employees got congratulated for their heroism and both lived happily afterward. One thing i found out about this movie was that, in the movie, Will had a problem with his wife and both weren’t speaking to each other until the train crisis were Will’s wife saw the news on the TV and decided to call Will, i kept on asking myself this, Is it only during crisis that if two people who love each other are having problem can come back together, but without those crisis being there, would they’ve come back together? And i think this really happens because it’s at that moment you get to feel that if you didn’t reach out to that special someone, you won’t be able to tell him or her how you really do feel about them.
