Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked
Alvin and the Chipmunks are back and this time in it’s third sequel, seriously; i didn’t think this movie will even see the dawn of the third part, but here it is. anyway the directors they made the entire storyline to be filled with excitement as well as suspense all the way through, have to give them a credit for that. What a good concept to always bring it towards the Christmas Holidays because a lot of kids and girls love this movies – don’t ask why; but if you pay attention to it a little bit, you’ll see why so many people actually go to the cinemas or buy a DVD just to watch a bunch of animated chipmunks who actually talk and sing? that’s because they really have good voices and the way they mix their tunes that makes it sound good just listening to it. The Trailer looks good, i bet the storyline would be good as well because from the previous sequels, i have to say this, i actually watched it and actually enjoyed the entire movie. It was hilarious, to the bone some -parts that is. I just love the way when a villains think he/her plans will work well in actual reality they don’t even have an idea of how to execute the “so called” plot to sabotage the Hero’s work or life or how the case maybe. Anyway this movie is gonna be out before Christmas i bet am gonna go to the cinema to watch this again, because all through the previous two series, i always watch them at the cinemas. check this movie out, it’s a must this holiday season.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
I like it when producers bring out classical tales and turn it into something awesome. In Sherlock Holmes, if you’ve watched the first sequel, you’d notice that they made Robert Downey(Sherlock) to be quite the extra fighter. well from the tales i knew of Sherlock Holmes when i was a little kid, i never knew he was such an aggressive fighter and a damn good one too; but in this story line, he’s not just the smart old detective every one knows he’s famous for along with solving extra ordinary mysteries that technically can’t be solved. I watch the trailer for this and to be honest, the only part that intrigued me was the slow-mo freeze time in the preview where he stop a man from shooting his gun, he removed the bullet that was to be shot, took the gun and passed it to his partner Dr. Watson (Jude Law). That was the coolest scenes in the movie. I don’t know what it is about me and slow motion cameras or freeze time tricks in movies that just makes me review the clip over and over again just to hear that pause sound. Love that thing. Anyway this movie is gonna be out soon probably before Christmas 2011, so just keep your eyes peeled and tuned on the Web to know when it’s actually coming out because from the looks of it, it’s damn cool.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
When i first saw the preview, i was like damn!!…this is gonna be awesome, and off course it is, I’ve been watching M.I since it’s first films and it has been good ever since. one of the thrilling thing about mission impossible is that, you can’t just get enough out of Ethan Hunt(Tom Cruise). He’s the kind of spy that just gets you going on and on about how cool he is, am not talking about “Cruise” am referring to his Character “Hunt”. well i think the story line is great, of which IMF was eventually giving into allegations made upon it. the cars, houses, stunts etc everything just makes you wish you were in the Movie. Anyway this movie is gonna be out this December so seat tight and smile at the screen because that were I’m gonna be when it’s out.

PS3 Has ‘Industry’s Strongest Software Lineup,’ says Sony
Sony has issued a statement in reaction to the October NPD sales report. The company did not reveal how many units of the PS3 were sold during a month in which rival Microsoft once again topped all platforms with 393K sold. Instead, Sony highlighted its holiday software lineup, and noted that inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood broke PSN records for digital sales.
“PlayStation 3 is primed for a great holiday season as this month’s NPD report shows. We’re seeing increased momentum in our 1st and 3rd-party software sales at retail, which are up 5% over last year, and we’re demonstrating the industry’s strongest software line up with blockbusters like Uncharted 3, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Battlefield 3, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and new Move titles Everybody Dance and Carnival Island. On the digital front, we are also pleased to report that inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood is the fastest selling PS3 digital game ever launched on PSN,” commented Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications at SCEA.

Sony Reveals UMD-to-Vita Transfer Plan For Japan
Sony already revealed that the PlayStation Vita would be compatible with digital download versions of PSP titles. Have you been crossing your fingers, waiting for Sony to admit that it would allow owners of UMD titles to download Vita-compatible versions off the PlayStation Store? Then your day has come. Sony has announced the UMD Passport program… for Japan. There is no mention of an American or European version of the program yet.
The program works in four steps:
- Download the UMD Registration application to your PSP
- Load it up with the UMD in question loaded in your PSP
- Register the UMD with your PlayStation Network account
- Download the download-only version at a discounted price
That discounted price varies from ¥500 to ¥2400, so publishers are probably the ones setting the price. A forum member over at NeoGAF translated the current list of titles eligible for the program.
- Guilty Gear Judgment (Arc System Works) 500 yen
- Carnage Heart Exa (Artdink) 500 yen
- Pachipara Slot: Pachislot Super Sea Story in Okinawa (Irem) 1000 yen

I admit, I’ve been watching the price of PSP titles in preparation for Sony’s eventual admission that it would allow owners of UMD titles the ability to download digital copies on the PlayStation Store. Atlus’ Persona 3 Portable still commands a premium price of $39.99 for instance. For some consumers it may still be cheaper to purchase a title through Craigslist or Ebay, register the title, and then resell it.
What do you think of Sony’s UMD workaround?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Sets New Record With 6.5 Million Sold in One Day
Call of Duty retains the throne this year, despite stiff competition from EA’s Battlefield 3.
With the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Activision has broken the records set by the franchise’s previous outing, Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game has sold 6.5 million units in North America and the United Kingdom in only 24 hours, with an estimated sell-through of $400 million. Comparatively, Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 had one-day sell-through totals of $360 million and $310 million, respectively.
Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia believes MW3 could generate between $700 and $750 million during the first week, as compared with Black Ops’ $650 million in sales during its first 5 days.
“We believe the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the biggest entertainment launch of all time in any medium, and we achieved this record with sales from only two territories,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO, Activision Blizzard, Inc.
“Other than Call of Duty, there has never been another entertainment franchise that has set opening day records three years in a row. Life-to-date sales for the Call of Duty franchise exceed worldwide theatrical box office for Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, two of the most successful entertainment franchises of all time.”
“Call of Duty is more than a game. It’s become a major part of the pop cultural landscape. It is a game that core enthusiasts love, but that also consistently draws new people into the medium. It is the most intense, adrenaline pumping entertainment experience anywhere. I would like to thank our incredible teams at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games for making a brilliant game. But most of all, I would like to thank our millions of passionate fans worldwide. We made this game for you,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO, Activision Publishing.
The company also announced that it has donated $3 million to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that seeks to train veterans and find them jobs. This donation joins the $2 million already provided by Activision previously.

5 things to know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
If you’re into military shooters, you’re pretty much in heaven right now. EA’s well-received Battlefield 3 survived a rickety launch last week to enjoy the biggest first week sales of any game this year, and just around the corner lurks an even bigger operation: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Ruining work productivity on November 8, the game is widely expected to continue the franchise’s trend of breaking its own entertainment launch records. First it smashed records with Modern Warfare 2, then went ahead and obliterated those with last year’s Black Ops. Can it pull off the three-peat?
We won’t know for certain until after the midnight launch parties die down a bit, but we know plenty about the game already. Here are five things you should know, too.
It’s a Worldwide war
The new game’s plot picks up where Modern Warfare 2 left off, with the Russian Federation hell bent on wreaking havoc across the world. Sounds like a bummer, but if not if you dig virtual travel.
Modern Warfare 3 scoops up even more frequent flier miles by letting players shoot it out from New York to Somalia, with pitstops in hot spots like London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, and Dubai. That even includes a stop at Wall Street to take out a radar installation , uh, ‘occupying’ the New York Stock Exchange. Though it likely won’t pack the controversial punch of Modern Warfare 2’s notorious ‘No Russian’ level, expect plenty of cinematic wow moments over the course of the game’s campaign.
It’s got new modes.
If you play the single-player at all, that is. The majority of players will probably be picking this bad boy up purely for the multiplayer. The good news is that they’ll have some cool surprises waiting for them.
One of the game’s buzziest new modes is ‘Kill Confirmed,’ which plays out like a typical Team Deathmatch, but requires that players snag the dog tags of downed enemies for the kills to count. Should your teammates grab your tag before the enemy does, the kill is denied. Take out four guys with an amazing grenade toss? You better grab their dog tags, too, or it doesn’t count.
If you prefer to play co-operatively, the new ‘Spec-Ops: Survival’ mode is the way to go. Waves of enemies will come pouring in at your and your buddies; take them out to gain funds, which you can then spend on a wide range of defenses. Think Gears of War’s Horde mode or Halo’s Firefight and you’ve got the picture.
It’s a package deal
Playing multiplayer in past Call of Duty games was all about racking up Killstreaks, which would grant certain abilities based on how many kills a player could string together without dying. While that will still be part of Modern Warfare 3, it’s gotten a bit more complicated and a whole lot cooler.
Players will now choose one of three ‘Strike Packages’ — Assault, Support or Specialist — which reward different play styles. Prefer to focus on completing objectives rather than just gunning down foes? You’ll rack up “Pointstreaks” either way, which will unlock different abilities for the three different packages. The result is a game that rewards more play styles — and more players.
It’s a number-cruncher.
Launching alongside Modern Warfare 3 is Call of Duty: Elite, a service that keeps track of every bullet fired and offers all sorts of advice to turn you into a Call of Duty pro. It comes in two models: a free version, which grants access to robust matchmaking features, stat tracking and loads of guides and tips, and a subscription-based service that includes all sorts of cool extras for the Call of Duty die-hard, such as early access to downloadable content, daily tournaments with prizes, clan benefits, and more. Check out this handy chart for the specifics.
Should you pony up for the extras? It runs $50 a year, so that really depends on how seriously you take your Duty. Either way, expect Elite to make you a better player.
It’s on pace to break records. Again.
Pre-orders are a good indicator for how a game might fare at retail — and Modern Warfare 3’s pre-orders are already pretty impressive.
Earlier this year, both GameStop and UK retailer GAME noted that Modern Warfare 3 was on pace to outperform Black Ops, and though Activision itself has remained coy on the actual pre-order figures, they seem impressed with how it’s shaking out.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops set records for the most pre-orders of a game,” the company told us in a statement. “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is tracking substantially ahead of that number.”
Sound familiar? That’s because Black Ops managed to outpace Modern Warfare 2 as well, and went on to breaks that game’s launch sales numbers.
