Playstation 4 a Joke Compared to PS3 & PS Vita
I am very shocked to see that the PS4 has so many restrictions yet SONY announced that they were going to be flexible in letting developers and fans choose how the PlayStation 4 is supposed to operate. Well I am here to tell you that I am very much disappointed with the way the PS4 system is, for one fact how the Heck did sony remove the Video and Music Players from PS4 and did nothing to address that? Is it only games and streaming that every PS fan out there wants, why not make it a two sided thing like Microsoft Did with the Xbox One. Even the PS Vita to me now seems way much better than having a PS4. The PS4 to me, is completely useless even though it has better graphics. What is being shown to the audience from adverts and from SONY conference Demo are not what the fans are receiving. Another fact is that, the PS4 is way slower than the way its been announced online or on TV. I am a PS fan, you can see that from all my post. I have never gotten any compensation or whatsoever to say nice things about Sony or PlayStation before and it won’t change the fact about saying the truth, but now its just too much, Sony has really pissed me off with their PS4 console and am angry about that. I should have just sticked to my PS3 console instead than getting a PS4. I got so angry that I packed back my PS4 just one day after buying it into its box. Its just very annoying to see all that technology and go for nothing; if you advertise something, at least make it interesting. When the PS3 or even PS vita came out, they didn’t have much games or activities but they had one thing in common – they could playback media files from USB or the ones stored internally inside their memory storage. Why is the PS4 limited, SONY please explain why because I am one angry Fan and I know they have lots of people out there, that are as angry as me. Please Fix the PS4 there’s too much PS legacy you guys are destroying because of your attitude not to release all the better updates of the PS 4. Please put pack storage media on Playback. Please I ask of you just this to make my time on the PS family not wasteful. Thank You.
Gran Turismo 6 sells 200k in first week in Japan
Sony’s racer steals the spotlight, but Dragon Quest X pushes Wii U to another strong week
Gran Turismo 6 enjoyed an impressive debut in Japan, selling more than 200,000 copies in its first week on sale.
The sixth full game in Sony’s long-running racing series sold just under 205,000 units in Japan last week, almost doubling the performance of the game in second place: Square Enix’s elaborately monickered Dragon Quest X: The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Sworn Friend Online, which sold a startling 117,000 copies on the Wii. Had the Wii U version’s sales been added to the Wii, Dragon Quest X would have sold almost 190,000 copies.
The other high new entries were Spike Chunsoft’s Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind and Level-5’s Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy Big Bang / Supernova, both of which placed in the top 5 with more than 90,000 sales.
The software top 10 is below, with lifetimes sales in parentheses:
1. [PS3] Gran Turismo 6 (SCEJ, 12/06/13) – 204,784 (New)
2. [Wii] Dragon Quest X: The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Sworn Friend Online(Square Enix, 12/05/13) – 117,432 (New)

In the hardware chart, the Wii U continued its strong run of form, adding 20,000 sales to reach more than 48,000 for the week – presumably due to the strong debut of Dragon Quest X.

YouTubers hit with wave of copyright claims
New measures spell trouble for monetisation on user-created videos, several publishers distance themselves from crackdown
YouTubers have reported a dramatic spike in the number of copyright claims made against their videos this week, as YouTube implements new measures to stamp out copyright violations on the site.
The news that YouTube was planning to crack down on videos using copyrighted images and music emerged at the end of last week, but the new measures weren’t expected until early next year.
However, according to a number of sources – many of which have clustered on the NeoGaf forum – YouTubers are already seeing a huge increase in the volume of copyright claims made against their videos on behalf of game companies. The ramifications for YouTubers – an increasingly popular and lucrative sector of the games press – could be severe, as a copyright claim effectively prevents the uploader from monetising their content.
One popular YouTube channel, Force Strategy Gaming, published a video criticising the “content ID sweep” that has taken place this week. In just a few days, the number of copyright claims received in the history of the channel have doubled, “and it seems like every time I refresh the page a couple more pop up.”
Force highlighted game trailers, game music and in-game cut-scenes as “the biggest offenders” for those making the claims, with even videos containing just a few seconds from a trailer called into question and stripped of their monetisation potential. Force claimed that a certain amount of copyright material is classified as “fair use”, but he predicted that these stricter enforcement policies could have a huge impact on YouTubers specialising in “Let’s Play” videos – a very popular new form widely regarded as beneficial to the products it critiques.

PS4 is the “leading system of this generation” – DFC
DFC Intelligence notes that Sony’s 2.1m sold is the best first two weeks of any console launch in history
The PlayStation 4 has been off to a fantastic start, selling over 2.1 million consoles across the globe. While Sony has noted that it’s the best start for a PlayStation system in the history of Sony Computer Entertainment, what some people may not be aware of is that it’s also the best start for any game console in history, DFC Intelligence noted today.
The research firm said that the 2.1 million units sold in the system’s first two weeks on sale (first in North America and then in Europe) places it above Nintendo’s Wii, which sold 1.6 million units in its first two weeks (in Japan and North America) and Sony’s own PS2, which sold 1.4 million units in Japan back in March 2000.
Microsoft’s Xbox One sold over 1 million units in its first two weeks, but the red-hot start for the PS4 only reinforces DFC’s forecast that Sony’s new console will be “the leading system of this generation.” DFC agreed with SCE boss Andrew House that PS4 could outsell the PS3, but it’s doubtful PS4 will approach the mighty sales of the PS2.
“The initial success of the PlayStation 4 bodes well for its future. The PlayStation 2 and Wii went on to be the best selling console systems ever. DFC Intelligence does not believe that the PlayStation 4 will surpass those systems but reiterates its forecast that the PS4 will be the number one system of this generation,” the firm said.
DFC also commented that Xbox One may be slightly more supply constrained: “The Xbox One has been difficult to find although from all indications DFC believes Microsoft did not ship as many units as the PlayStation 4.”

PS4 hosted 10 per cent of all Twitch streams in the last month
Sony’s customers respond well to streaming and spectator services
Sony’s decision to include player-streaming tools in the PlayStation 4 has been met with great enthusiasm by the console’s early adopters.
According to data released by Sony today, 10 per cent of all streams through the ubiquitous Twitch.tv service since November 14 – the U.S. release date – were from PlayStation 4 players.
Between Twitch and Ustream, there have been 800,000 game broadcasts lasting a total of 20 million minutes, with a total of 7.1 million viewers.
“PlayStation 4 is specifically designed so people can share their gaming experiences and interest in streaming live gameplay has surpassed our wildest expectations,” said Shuhei Yoshida, president of SCE Worldwide Studios. “We’re very excited to see gamers embrace live streaming from their PS4 system and we look forward to seeing how PlayStation gamers advance social gaming in the coming years.”
Twitch was also a day-one app for Xbox One, and the burgeoning trend for player-broadcasting looks set to be a defining feature of this generation. Indeed, the popularity of League of Legends as a spectator event demonstrates the extent of the idea’s potential.
In September, Twitch closed a $20 million round of funding, taking investment from Take-Two Interactive, among others. “Their intuitive and accessible integration of Twitch removes the barriers to entry which casual broadcasters currently face, so we expect traffic numbers to soar when these consoles launch,” Twitch COO Kevin Lin said at the time.

PS4 tops all consoles in the US for November
Sony confirms that NPD data shows PS4 as the top console [UPDATE: MS counters, saying XB1 is “fastest selling”]
North America for month after month had been dominated by the Xbox 360 console, which repeatedly outsold the competition. As a new generation kicks off, however, Sony is hoping to establish a new pattern. Today, it’s been confirmed that PS4 did indeed lead all console sales in November.
“PlayStation 4 sales in North America and worldwide have been incredibly strong since launch, culminating in PS4 being recognized as the largest console launch in history. In North America alone, more than one million PS4 units were sold in only 24 hours and we’re pleased NPD has reported that PS4 was the top selling next gen platform for both hardware and software in November,” said Jack Tretton, President and CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment America.
“We are humbled by the passion and excitement demonstrated by gamers for PS4. Demand continues to overwhelm supply, but we’re working hard to get PS4 units into the hands of customers throughout the holiday season.”
We’ll have the full NPD report shortly.
Update: According to tweets from Microsoft’s Major Nelson, Xbox One was the “fastest selling” console in November selling 101k units per day (on average) in North America. He also tweeted that Xbox 360 sold the highest amount for last-gen consoles with 647k units.
Update 2: In a press release, Microsoft further clarified that 909,132 Xbox One units were sold in the US in the console’s first nine days, and the 101,000 consoles sold per day “significantly” outpaces the nearest competitor.

Grand Theft Auto V – GTA 5
Unlike its predecessor, GTA V is a whole lot of work put together. I couldn’t imagine the amount of time put into this project until i had to play the game for myself. You can virtually do almost anything. I think the only thing you can’t do at the moment is enter into other buildings that’s not part of the mission but besides that, you can do the rest. It goes to show that RockStar Games means serious business when they meant to release their latest game. They’ve been known to always do an open world kinda games and they are getting better in doing them. GTA V talks about three criminals, two of which knew each other and one is an upcoming criminal that needs mentoring. They all have special abilities that makes them unique and the sweetest part of the game is that, all are doing something in real time every time you do a switch between characters, they are all doing something very unique. The way the game is structured makes it, a 10 in my list of best games this year. You should try it out, GTA V, its a lovely game.
